It's easy to be despaired when your struggling with your finances or quarantine during a pandemic called Covid 19. Martin Rinkart served as a clergyman in Germany during the war and plague years in the 17th century. At times his family went hungry and he conducted over 4,000 funerals over thirty years to include his wife. His faith in God remained strong and he gave thanks continually. In fact he poured his gratitude into the song that became a well known hymn, "Now Thank We All Our God. He followed the prophet Isaiah who instructed the Israelites to give thanks at all times, including when they disappointed God (Isaiah 12:1).

In times of hardship, how do you or do you turn to thanksgiving and praise?
